HSBC has moved into Apex Plaza

Woodley Chronicle

July 2007

HSBC has moved into Apex Plaza. The bank has taken 7,624 sq ft in Readings premier office location.

Keith Wise, partner at Campbell Gordon which, along with Colliers CRE acted for owners Prudential, said:Apex Plaza has had an astonishing couple of years. We have let 93,000 sq.ft in the building since summer 2005. Rents have increased by £3 sq.ft and rent free incentives have reduced by 1/3.

There is simply a lack of supply of grade A space in the town centre. This fact coupled with increase in demand means I believe town centre rents could reach £28 sq.ft.

Perhaps we will even break through the £30 sq.ft barrier in the next couple of years.

Mark Emburey, director of south east offices at Colliers CRE said: Most tenants are prepared to pay higher levels of rent for the best space, which also enables them to align with some of the most established occupiers in Reading town centre.
