The Challenge

Gaming International Plc & Russell Management had been working on an exciting new leisure concept in Reading, a greyhound and speedway stadium combined with a casino; dubbed the 'Racino'. The proposed site was on the junction of Island Road and the A33 in Reading. However in order secure planning consent a sequential analysis of alternative sites in more central locations was required. This was needed quickly in order to meet the decision making timetable of the planning authorities.

The Solution

Campbell Gordon were appointed because of their local market knowledge and their ability to step up and respond quickly. A large number of alternative sites were researched and assessed quickly and thoroughly.

The Result

Campbell Gordon produced a comprehensive report which found their were no suitable alternatives. This was submitted to the planning authorities for their consideration. Planning consent was granted.
